Good Morning Vietnam
Destinasi seterusnya...Ho Chin Minh atau lebih dikenali sebagai Saigon.
Sekadar jalan-jalan ditengah minggu, dengan pesawat B738, cuaca hujan yang agak lebat sewaktu mendarat di SGN (kod 3 huruf untuk destinasi ini)- ianya suatu pengalaman baru buat saya dan isteri.
Dengan tanpa tujuan untuk membeli-belah, hanya sekadar melawat tempat baru dan menziarahi sahabat lama yang bertugas disana.
Sekadar jalan-jalan ditengah minggu, dengan pesawat B738, cuaca hujan yang agak lebat sewaktu mendarat di SGN (kod 3 huruf untuk destinasi ini)- ianya suatu pengalaman baru buat saya dan isteri.

2nd term 1988/1989- 1st week
Dedicate this note to my sons,nieces and nephews who had to go through the struggle,"pain",.....(u name it) to complete their studies ....All the best!!!
09Jan1989 - Some how i missed the morning lecture on the first lecture of the day for the 2nd term study for the year 1988/1989.Not much exciting news for the day except a jet crash on M1 (British called it motorway instead of highway as defined by Malaysian).The motorway was located in the East Midland of Great Britain. Very unfortunate- 44 people died. What a tragic incident!!!
10Jan1989- Had the chance to play volleyball in th evening after the 2hours lecture on Computer Studies.
11Jan1989-After attending college for the subject known as 360 for an hour, i went to Tottenham Court Road - a bookshop known as Dillon Bookshop. We had the Islamic Society discussion at college too. As part of the committee members for the Club under my campus, West Ham, it was our duty to ensure various activities are held for the members as well as exposing the information much on Islam to the non-muslim, especially the students who are young and very keen to know about our religion and some of them are searching for the truth about life.
12Jan1989- Had 2 lectures on the day ie Statistics and Computing studies.
13Jan1989- It was well remembered. Friday the 13th!!! We had a lecture by a new lecturer came from the main campus, Barking precinct - Mr. Ken Gowers. In the evening, i played squash with Ross at Barking Sports Centre. Went to Ross's house after the game and at the same had the chance to understand a programming language from him - APL! (i donot think i remember the language by now)
14Jan1989 -As usual, we went to market to buy groceries for the week.Tried to complete the coursework for Mr.Saebi (one of my Iraqis' lecturers). Stayed a night at Wak's house.
15Jan1989 - Even it was a Sunday, i had no choice but to do revision. My final year for the course. Also managed to rewrite the essay for the final year thesis. My study partner and only nearest coursemate around my housing area, Miss Sangeeta came to house for a discussuion on Statistics. Very proud of her, despite had to sit for another year of examination after failed in the previous year, she was determined to work hard. As a good gesture, i became her study partner. After all, her house was not far away from my house in East Ham.
Over the week (on the first week of 2nd term 1988/1989), i recorded that i had completed of 12 hours (not much really!!) of own study (4 subjects) in the evening as part of my preparation for the final examination in Jun1989.

My last Summer Holidays :1989
It was summer holidays-my last Summer holiday before i leave the country,Britain.
19 June1989.
It was the second week of Summer Holidays after my final exam.Woke up late on monday morning. Went to bank to buy the travellers cheque valued GBP50. I couldnot recall why i wanted the travellers cheque.It was a surprise that i received an application form for the part-time job that i applied earlier. the job was related to the coming event which took place in the city of London. It was the tall ship events in conjuction with the 800th anniversary (1189-1989)City of London:Lord Mayor.
20June1989
I played table-tennis in Barking followed by the real tennis (the cement court) in the afternoon at East Ham. My coursemate, Samin called and asked about my activities. Actually, we intended to go Europe in the next few weeks.
21June1989
It was like a crash course for me to learn tennis. This time, i had the chance to play tennis with Samin.It was a bad Wednesday for Londoners as London Transports was on strike again. i could not recall how many times the strike occurred on Wednesdays in the year 1989. It was about the money that they wanted like salary increment, additional perks for the staff. But the best part is that the strike was made known to public in advance for them (especially the workers) be ready to find alternative mode of transport to work or make a day off.

Went to Haniff's house, my malaysian friend who studied at LSE.He was preparing to move to another new house.
24June1989
Received a letter.I got the part time job which i wanted badly to earn some money for my Summer Holidays. Have to report to work in the following week for 2 weeks. Shon came to my house and as usual without fail, i continued my "tennis lesson" with him- that time. FKA called me to inform about her plan to travel Europe in the following week.
25June1989
It was a beautiful and sunny Sunday. My house mates,Mahfiz and i went to Kew Gardens for a picnic. Not forgetting, someone brought the radio (even not allowed in the public park for listening loudly). We brought sandwiches and cookies too. Kew Gardens was known for its green. A very big and huge garden where we can find the tropical plants like coconut tree, banana tree in their special Summer Garden. In the museum, you can find the rubber tree which was introduced in Malaya in early days of British occupation. Remember: Who brought the rubber tree to Malaya (must open History book).

ONE DAY TRAVEL CARD:LONDON
Sekadar catatan buat teman-teman yang sama-sama mengharungi perjalanan sekitar ibukota London
Saya mula mengenali kad ini seawal 1986 bila kami perlu ke Central London (atau lebih tepat Malaysia Hall yang terletak di Bryanston Square. Tube yang terdekat ialah Marble Arch (central line). Waktu itu cuma GBP 1.60 (bagi tahun 1986) untuk semua zon. ketika itu ada Zon 1,2,3A,3B dan 3C. Tahun 1988 setelah 2 tahun berada di London, kadnya dinaikkan ke GBP 2.00. Tahun seterusnya Zon bagi One Day Travel card bertukar kepada Zon 1 hingga Zon 5.
Yang lebih menariknya, kad ini boleh dipakai sepanjang hari dan boleh menaiki semua bas yang berwarna merah (Red London Bus) dan semua perkhidmatan kereta api bawah tanah (dikenali sebagai tube ) sekitar London.
Kami pelajar Malaysia (ketika itu-1986) yang ditempatkan di St Mary College mula mengenali stesen keretapi bawah tanah South Woodford.Terletak di laluan utama (central line). Perjalanan ke stesen Marble Arch menggunakan keretapi tersebut (tube) mengambil masa sekitar 1 jam daripada South Woodford. Dalam tempoh sebulan, setiap hari Jumaat kami ke Marble Arch untuk menunaikan solat Jumaat di Malaysia Hall.
Bagi pelajar yang menuntut di Kampus Utama NELP (North East London Polytechnic) yang terletak di Dagenham, Stesen keretapi Laluan District(District Line) Barking tidaklah asing bagi mereka yang menjadi tumpuan untuk mengambil tube apabila hendak ke Central London. Bagi pelajar di Kampus Holbrook, stesen utama ialah Plaistow yang juga terdapat kedai barangan orang-orang Asia.
Ingin tahu berapa harga One Day Travel Card Sekarang?
Sekitar GBP 7 hingga GBP 9 bergantung kepada zon yang dilalui.

Where are my FRIENDS? Who they are NOW?
(not intended to offend anyone by publishing some of the facts of my old friends)
Aku sedang membelek buku alamat lama yang disimpan sejak 1989. Sebelum ianya dimusnahkan atas sebab peribadi, izinkan aku untuk menulis semua nama sahabat-sahabat yang dikenali sejak di bangku sekolah hinggalah tamat pengajian tinggi (sebagaimana yang tercatat didalam buku alamat ini..maaf alamat penuh dan no tel perlu dirahsiakan).
Rakan-rakan Ausmat (Kumpulan Pelajar Matrikulasi Australia 1984-1985)
Abdullah Rahman Abdullah..dari Kuala muda Kedah. Menuntut di Kolej Islam Kelang. Kali terakhir bertugas di KPMG dan dikhabarkan menetap di Ulu Langat, Batu 14.
Abdul Razak Atan..dari Mersing. Seorang jurutrea yang bertugas di Pantai Timur, Semenanjung Malaysia..kali terakhir bertemu sekitar Julai 2007 sewaktu majlis bersua kembali bekas pelajar NELP di Putrajaya.
Ahmad Razif (AUSMAT 2) ..dari Keramat. kali terakhir berjumpa awal tahun 2000 di salah sebuah pasar raya terkenal di Wangsa Maju.
Aziz BP ...dari Batu Pahat..lebih kenal beliau disebabkan kakaknya merupakan guru Bahasa Malaysia ....sewaktu di Sekolah Menengah Tasek Utara, Johor Bahru. Dikhabarkan bertugas di JB? lost contact.....
Azhar Ahmad aka ayam ..juga dari Kg. Istana,BP (sekampung dengan Aziz Zaki) Seorang jurutera juga. Kini menetap di Alam Damai.
Azahari (sama-sama mendalami ilmu agama bersama pakcik ku dari Melaka)...menuntut di Australia.
Azman Arifin yang menetap di KL. Pakar kejuruteraan dalam bidang air (kalau tak silap)..tapi bukan gang IWK.
Abdul Halim UMW,Shah Alam...masih setia dengan UMW..yang selalu belanja makan tengah hari
(masih dalam ingatan dan selalu berinteraksi melalui telefon)...salah seorang AJK yang mengelolakan Majlis Bersua Kembali Bekas Pelajar NELP di Putrajaya.
Fared Wakimin...Kini bermaustatin di Sintok,Kedah. berasal dari Kota Tinggi (Orang Johor)
Hawa Rohany...kali terakhir berjumpa di Colchester,UK. Bekas pensyarah kami di KPP,Shah Alam.

2 Hari 1 Malam: Program Firqah:Bahagian 2
15April2012
Ahad..hari kedua dan terakhir bagi anak-anak bersama keluarga saya. Untuk lebih mengenali keluarga kami, kami ke Danau Kota. Menziarahi datuk Adam di sana.
Sebagai selingan buat anak-anak, kami sempat singgah di Taman Furlong, Setapak ..ke Pustaka Peringatan P.Ramlee.
Selepas kami menjamu selera di Wangsa Maju, kami ke Putrajaya untuk mendirikan solat Zohor sebelum menghantar anak-anak pulang ke asrama mereka.
Didoakan agar anak-anak ini akan berusaha meneruskan perjuangan mereka untuk kebaikan di dunia dan akhirat.
